Are scholarships available?

Yes. Scholarships will be awarded to participants to cover the cost of the conference, accommodations, and meals.

Is my travel covered?

No. You must arrange your own travel to Venice and to the Venice Institute buildings. Directions to the Venice Institute will be made available.

Can I bring my spouse?

Accommodations are not available for spouses.

How do I get there by train?

When you arrive at the station, “Santa Lucia”, in Venice, you can take boat: number 51 along the Giudecca Canal. Get off at the station “Zattere.” Turn left after the church of the Gesuati, the entrance is at number 909/A behind the same Church.

You can also take boats number 1 or 82 (direction Vallaresso). This is a more scenic route along the Canal Grande. Get off at the station “Accademia.” On your left take the street “Rio Terrà Foscarini” and you will find us after 200 metres on your right, opposite the church of Sant’Agnese.

How do I get there by plane?

From the Marco Polo Airport follow the signs to the harbour and take the Alilaguna boat or a water taxi. You can also, from the airport take bus number 5 that will take you to the “Piazzale Roma” in Venice From the Piazzale Roma, you can take the boat: number 51 along the Giudecca Canal. Are meals included?

Yes, meals are available to all participants during the duration of the meeting.

How early may participants arrive in Venice?

Accommodations will be available for arrival 25 May with departure 29 May.

Where will I be staying?

Accommodations are in Venice and within easy walking distance from the meeting areas. Rooms are comparable to hotel rooms, with toilets and showers ensuite. For more information, visit the Artigianelli website.

Can we extend our stay at the Istituto?

No. Accommodations are not available after or before the meeting days.

What are some local points of interest?

The weather will be warm to hot.

Will I have internet access during my stay?

Yes, both wireless and cable internet access is available at no charge.

Can application materials be submitted in languages other than English?

No, all application materials must be submitted in English.
